How did you come up with the idea for this course, and why?
The idea for this course originated from my experience on TikTok. People kept asking me if I was on the platform, and when I finally joined, I was struck by the sheer number of talented dancers and impressive routines. However, I noticed a recurring issue: many of the instructional videos moved too quickly, making it challenging for less experienced dancers to follow along. As a dance instructor with over 20 years of experience, I realized that I could offer something unique by breaking down dance moves in a simplified way.
My “aha moment” came when I realized that I could combine my expertise with the desire to share my “body of work” on TikTok. I wanted to teach people how to find their rhythm and groove while showcasing my own unique style. Thus, the “Read My Hip” routines were born, which eventually evolved into a full course/master class.
My goal is to provide a fun and accessible learning experience for dancers of all skill levels, whether they’re just starting or looking to enhance their existing dance abilities. By sharing my own approach to dance and movement, I hope to inspire others to tap into their creativity and find joy in expressing themselves through dance.
Do I need to do this in a dance studio?
No, you can do the dance routines and workouts from the comfort of your own home, office, or any other location that suits you. Our course is designed to be accessible and convenient, and we provide a hybrid of indoor and outdoor lessons to accommodate different preferences and schedules
